Latvia

www.pv.lv is the official website to buy your train tickets in Latvia.

Trains in Latvia are operated by Pasažieru vilciens (Passenger Train Services), offering domestic and international routes. The rail network connects the capital, Riga, to major cities like Jurmala, Sigulda, and Jelgava, with frequent services that are affordable and reliable. The trains are modern, with some older routes using diesel units. For longer journeys, there are international connections, such as the Riga-Valga route to Estonia and a new service to Lithuania starting in 2023.

While many trains are punctual, some routes may not have onboard facilities like toilets. Latvia also offers unique narrow-gauge trains, such as the Gulbene-Aluksne line, a popular tourist attraction.
